National E-security Awareness Week (the Week) is an Australian Government initiative that aims to help Australians understand e-security risks and educate home and small business users about the simple steps they can take to protect themselves, their families and their businesses online.
There are events, community activities and initiatives scheduled across Australia throughout the Week, initiated by the Australian Government and its industry and community partners, which will explore e-security 1) In the home: looking at the many ways families use the internet at home, from online transactions to social networking ; 2) On the land: highlighting the increasingly crucial role the internet plays in rural and regional Australia, and 3) In the office: looking at the value of the internet to small businesses who are increasingly operating online.
The Australian Government's Stay Smart Online website provides information on e-security matters.
