Trees For Life [1] has been revegetating and protecting remnant native vegetation for nearly three decades. It has now initiated a carbon neutral program that allows you to take personal responsibility for the carbon dioxide emissions you create with your car, flights and energy use.
Trees For Life [2] is a unique South Australian not for profit organisation with a strong commitment to intervene in the degradation of the natural landscape through revegetation and the protection of remnant vegetation. By engaging community volunteers in its programs, the organisation has sustained its activities for nearly three decades and is recognised as a leader in the areas of volunteer engagement and native vegetation management. Our basic programs of the Tree Scheme, Bush For Life and Direct Seeding continue to flourish and have achieved national recognition.
The world has changed significantly, however, since Trees For Life commenced its work. Climate change and the need to protect and repair the environment have become major issues and in themselves have become "big business". The organisation is determined to remain in the forefront of the environmental debate and action but only on the basis of sound science and technology. By remaining true to our core values we believe that Trees For Life fills a unique niche which ensures its viability as long as it remains professional, accountable and open to change.
Most recently we have introduced our Carbon Neutral program in association with our Western Australian partners. The program's aim is to increase broad acre revegetation in SA through carbon sequestration plantings protected from clearance for 30+ years and funded through subscriptions by individuals, business and government. Going carbon neutral is an easy way that you can contribute to a healthier planet. While others do the talking Trees For Life is acting and has been for the past thirty years.
