Celebrate Children’s Book Week
Each year, schools and public libraries from all over Australia spend a week celebrating books and Australian authors and illustrators. This year’s Children’s Book Week runs from 17 August until 23 August.
Classroom teachers, teacher librarians and public librarians develop activities, offer competitions and tell stories to highlight the importance of reading. This year’s theme is Read across the universe.
Children’s Book Week is the longest running children’s festival in Australia, organised by the Children’s Book Council of Australia. It is celebrating its 68th birthday this year.
