Dine out and help out
For the six weeks in the lead-up to Christmas, not-for profit organisation StreetSmart partners with restaurants to ask diners to make a small donation to StreetSmart on their bill. From 11 November to 31 December every table is asked to add $2 or more to their bill. It’s a simple idea that adds up to a big impact on the lives of people who are homeless.
StreetSmart is taking action against homelessness, raising funds and awareness for grassroots services and projects. Their project DineSmart started ten years ago in Melbourne, raising $16,574. Last year, $361,471 were raised. So when you are planning a night out, think about taking a simple action and book at a StreetSmart participating restaurant.
