Travel & Tourism
Australians have embraced travel as a national pastime. It is one of the most rewarding and eye opening experiences a person can have. In fact globally, travel is on the rise with more than one billion tourists expected by the end of 2012, according to The World Tourism Organization (UNWTO).
In our Travel Forum, we will explore how travel is an excellent source of knowledge and understanding. How it enables appreciation for not only other cultures but our own. We look at developments and travel trends like eco-tourism and the increasing role government plays in providing assistance to overseas travellers.
We review the effects of travel in high risk, remote areas and new frontiers, as well as the role technology is playing in booking accommodation, flights and experiences. Is enough being done to protect the environment? Should the government intervene when someone gets in trouble overseas?
Marketing plays a key role in travel and we check out some of the most successful tourism campaigns and destinations and why they are popular. We also look at the future of air travel, space travel and highlight those who are attempting to make a difference in world.
