You are not alone
September is Dementia Awareness Month. The theme for 2016 is “You are not alone“. Wednesday 21 September 2016 is World Alzheimer’s Day.
People are encouraged to find out more about dementia during Dementia Awareness Month and to increase their awareness and understanding of the condition so people living with dementia and their carers feel less isolated and alone.
Alzheimer’s Australia has invited Dr Ronald Petersen M.D., Ph.D. to conduct a speaking tour around the country to raise awareness about dementia in the community. Dr Petersen is a world leader in the field of Alzheimer’s disease and dementia and is the director of the US Mayo Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center and the Mayo Clinic Study on Aging.
