Looking back on 2016
An eventful year is coming to an end. Thank you for your blogs, your comments and your support. Here’s an overview of our discussion topics and the most popular blogs written this year.
Every year we cover a wide range of public policy and social issues, and 2016 was no different. In six discussion forums we invited you to join the debate by sharing your story, opinion or blog.
This year’s topics were: Disruption Economy, Philanthropy, Australian Youth, Spaces of Australian Innovation and Early Childhood Education.
In September Global Access Partners’ 7th Annual Economic Summit at NSW Parliament House focused on ‘Spaces of Australian Innovation’ and welcomed federal and state politicians, business leaders, academics and social commentators. I invite you to read the final report and infographic from the Summit.
We’re currently discussing Productive Ageing and will continue to do so in January. As always, I encourage you to contact me to give me feedback or to discuss your blog idea.
And now I’d like to share some of our most popular blogs this year:
- Innovation in outer space, it’s not rocket science – by Andrea Boyd
- Pauline Hanson’s One Nation: The revival of populism in Australian politics – by Liam Lander
- Youth dual diagnosis clients and the systemic barriers they face – by Anna Brockman
- Is Profit for Purpose the next big disruption in the not-for-profit sector? – by Geoff Gourley
- Federal election 2016: Outcome and key players – by Dominic O’Sullivan
- Time for NDIS critics to show their cards – by Craig Wallace
- Millennial philanthropists stepping up to the plate for the arts – by Clare Ainsworth Herschell
- What if heart disease were a choice? – by Ben Bambery
- Justice reform strategy – by David Thorp
- People need people – by Florence and Scott Harrod
I’d love to hear from you which topics resonated with you the most and what you’d like to see more of. This is your website, and you shape it with your ideas, comments and blogs.
We are taking a break over the festive season. I invite you to stop, take a deep breath and be grateful for what you have, and to spend time with your family and friends. I’ll see you in early January, and I’m looking forward to sharing lots of exciting topics and ideas with you then. So much to discuss!
