Consultation receives over 34,000 submissions

| June 26, 2009

The National Human Rights Consultation Committee announced that they had received over 34,000 submissions as part of a nation-wide consultation on human rights in Australia.

I would like to thank all those who have participated in our blog these past weeks.  There has been some very informed discussion.

I and my committee members now look forward to the public hearings in the Great Hall of Parliament House next week.

There will be plenty of opportunity for public involvement at the hearings from 1-3 July.

You can register for the public hearings at the National Human Rights Consultation website.

The program is available here.

After the hearings, I and the committee will be able to settle down to the task of writing a report drawing on the 35,000 submissions received and the 70 community consultations attended by 4,300 persons.

The National Human Rights Online Consultation was closed at 5:00pm AEST (Australian Eastern Standard Time) on Friday, 26 June 2009.

    Totalitarianism in Oz

The only rights in Australia have been concieved by those in power to protecft their ill gotten gains. On the ground, where it matters to most of us, the corpurate crooks hide behind lies and lawyers and the puppet police. If you haven't been arrested by them on false allegations, you don't know what is going on.

The problem with the adversarial justice system is that someone (workers comp insurers) can call you a liar, and the machine of lawyers forbids you to have your say. I'm in XXXX1 court on XXXX2 the  for contravening an AVO which should never have been issued. It was because I dropped an egg in the foyer of an insurance company in protest. I've been arrested 3 times and locked up for 24 hours on the last occasion for a "technical breach" … I dropped an egg and was accused of making a bomb threat by the machine.  XXXX3  said we have a right to protest and I thought I had a duty to protest my innocebe but that is not the case in this totalitarian state … especially when some XXXX4 in a skirt from a corporation is protecting herself. This lot corrupt doctors and they con the police and they ruin countless lives.

with little respect (because of your 'terms of reference)
