Change the face of men’s health

| November 1, 2013

During November each year, millions of moustaches around the world are grown for Movember to raise funds and awareness for prostate and testicular cancer and mental health.

Movember challenges men to grow a moustache for the 30 days of November, thereby changing their appearance and the face of men’s health. On the 1st of Movember participants start their Mo growing journey with a clean-shaven face.

Then for the entire month, these men, known as Mo Bros, become walking, talking billboards for 30 days, raising awareness of men’s health by prompting conversations wherever they go.

Another part of being a Mo Bro is to raise funds for men’s health. Men donate their face, and like taking part in a run or a walk for charity, ask their family and friends to sponsor their efforts.

Since its beginnings in 2003 in Melbourne, Movember has grown to become a global movement inspiring more than 3 million men to participate across 21 countries worldwide. In 2012, over 1.1 million Mo Bros and Mo Sistas around the world joined the movement, raising AUS $141.5 million.
