Photographic Competition
The Do Something Near You organisation invites everyone to embrace their creative urges and help celebrate volunteers. Do Something Near you is holding a photo competition that aims to influence Australians to explore, engage, and empower change through volunteering in their local communities.
They ask the public to take a snap of something that illustrates community volunteering and to submit the photo by 21 May. The public will vote for winners who will have a chance to win a digital SLR camera.
Do Something Near You is a community directory and volunteer portal. The website provides links between charities, councils and communities. The aim of the project is to encourage and assist members of the public and the business community to invest their time and resources in local not-for-profit organisations, to the benefit of all Australians.
Categories for this year’s photo contest include: Animals and Environment, Wellness, Arts and Culture, Social Advocacy, and Community Service.
